Introductions to This Sunday’s Lessons

Acts 17.22-31

On his second missionary journey, Paul has crossed Asia Minor (modern Turkey) and has arrived in Athens, a city known for its interest in the divine and for its openness to discussion of philosophies and religions. He now tells the good news to those gathered at the edge of the marketplace.

1 Peter 3.13-22

The author has exhorted his readers to live ethical lives and not to repay evil for evil. They face persecution for their faith. He asks: who will weaken your faith or cause you to lose it all together?

John 14.15-21

Jesus has told his followers of his impending departure from them. He has told them that he is going, through resurrection and ascension, to the Father, to prepare a place of permanent fellowship for them. He will return to take them there, a place where there is ample room for as many as believe.

Supplies needed: Canned Fruits, Hot & Cold Cereals, Canned Meats, Peanut Butter, Grains (rice, pasta, etc.), Canned & Dried Beans, Canned Vegetables, 100% Fruit/Veggie Juice, and Healthy Snacks. The Children at Trinity Parish bring the Red Wagon with your generous donations to the Altar to be blessed during the Offertory Procession on Sundays!

A New Community Is Forming — All Are Welcome!

We are excited to announce the formation of Trinity Pride, our LGBTQ+ group — a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and community within our parish family. Whether you identify as LGBTQ+ or as an ally, we’d love for you to be part of this new and meaningful chapter at Trinity.

To get things started, we’ll be gathering a few times over the summer — at varying times so everyone has a chance to join in — to share ideas, get to know one another, and consider together what this community can be and do. We hope these conversations will be as fun as they are meaningful!

Our first meeting will be Sunday, May 17, immediately following the 10 o’clock service, in the second-floor classroom. Come as you are, bring your ideas, and help us build something wonderful together. For more information, please reach out to any of our organizers — we’d love to hear from you!

Parish Picnic at the Blue Rocks!

Get ready for a joyful summer evening as we gather for a fun-filled night of baseball, fellowship, and food at the Blue Rocks! This isn’t just a game — it’s a celebration of who we are as the Episcopal Church in Delaware: one church, one family, together in the stands. Whether you’re a lifelong baseball fan or just here for the laughter, connection, and all-you-can-eat picnic, this is a night you won’t want to miss.

This is also the perfect opportunity to bring your church community together. Invite your parish—families, youth groups, choir members, neighbors, and friends — and let’s fill the stands with Episcopal spirit! with the diocesan choir at the Blue Rocks!

We’re assembling a diocesan-wide choir to sing the National Anthem at our Parish Picnic at the Blue Rocks on Saturday, June 27, 2026. The game begins at 6:05 p.m., and our choir will open the evening from the field — representing the full voice of the Episcopal Church in Delaware.

Everyone is welcome to join — whether you’re a seasoned chorister or simply

love to sing, we’d be glad to have you join us for this joyful diocesan moment.
