The Episcopal Church in Delaware

Founded in 1785, the Episcopal Church in Delaware is one of the nine original dioceses of the Episcopal Church in the United States. Rooted in a rich history yet continually growing and evolving, the Diocese remains committed to welcoming people from all walks of life into communities of faith, service, and belonging.

Today, the Episcopal Church continues to celebrate the spirit of liberty and inclusion by creating space for thoughtful questions, meaningful conversation, and a deeper exploration of God’s presence in our lives and communities. Through worship, outreach, education, and fellowship, congregations across Delaware seek to serve their neighbors with compassion and hope.
