Open Positions at Trinity Episcopal Parish

TWO SECTION LEADER/SOLOIST OPENINGS beginning in September at historic Trinity Episcopal Church in Wilmington, DE.  Seeking one mezzo/alto and one baritone/bass at $160 per week.  Trinity is easily accessible from I-95, located at the top of the ramp of Exit 7.

We are adding two more positions to our existing quartet of professional singers.  These six paid singers are supplemented each Sunday by a highly skilled and dedicated corps of another 12 to 16 volunteer singers for a versatile ensemble of 18 to 22 singers.

The 2023/2024 season runs from September 7 to May 26, plus one special required Sunday on July 21, 2024, for the visit of the Presiding Bishop.  MUST be available to sing all Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday services to apply.  Thursday evening rehearsals are at 7:00 pm and Sunday morning call is at 9:00 am.

Singers, who serve as both soloists and section leaders, must be excellent sight-readers and adept and comfortable singing in an EXTREMELY wide variety of musical genres and styles in a fast-paced environment.  Singers must also be punctual, reliable and willing to work in and foster a spirit of collegiality and collaboration. Our choir is extremely hard-working, dedicated and focused, but also loves to create great music while having lots of fun and enjoying our time together.

Trinity’s choir and congregation are a diverse, welcoming, inclusive, loving and compassionate group of individuals.  Trinity Parish, which was founded in 1698 and will be celebrating a 325th Anniversary this year, has a long history of musical excellence and two beautiful and historic sanctuaries that are home to two Austin pipe organs (a three-manual and a two-manual), five pianos (including a nine-foot Steinway in the main sanctuary), as well a large set of handbells and tower bells.
